HEARTLAND VINTAGE RACING (HVR) UPCOMING EVENTS

Heartland Vintage Racing (HVR) is the newest Vintage Racing Organization and will present its very first event August 19-20-21-22 of 2010 at Heartland Park Topeka, Topeka, Kansas.

O’Reilly Auto Parts company is the proud sponsor of this Vintage Racing Extravaganza and is excited about the many things involved such as:

The featured Marque is Triumph and The Friends of Triumph and others will have a great opportunity to support the Kastner Cup Race which will be the featured race on Sunday, August 22.

Leading up to the Sunday races which include all of the normal Groups plus the Victory Lane Vintage Formula Vee Festival Race, will be a Performance Driving Experience (PDX) on Thursday in conjunction with race car Test and Tune. There are 8 Groups of race cars and they will be racing all of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

For only $100 you can enter the PDX with your own street or race car and you will have a licensed race driver assigned to you as an instructor.  Class room in the morning, followed by the rest of the day on track, learning to drive your car to the best of your ability and the best of the car’s ability.

Friday evening the race cars will have a police escort to the Kansas State Capitol building where they will be greeted by the Mayor of Topeka and others.  The cars will be on display for the general public before being escorted back to Heartland Park. 

After a lot of great racing on Saturday the drivers, crews and workers will be treated to a Kansas style BBQ dinner in the Scott Liebler Pavilion with entertainment provided by Soul to Soul from Houston, Texas.  Check out their link on our web page.

The Topeka High School Band will perform on Sunday and at the conclusion of the National Anthem there will be a military aircraft fly over.  The Band will also be providing a car wash in the paddock to offset some of their band expenses.

Car clubs will grace a large area of the paddock in a huge corral and vintage race cars such as Indy Roadsters and Classic and Exotic race cars etc. will be on display in prominent areas.  These cars will also be performing on track. There will also be well over 50 vendors in the vendor row.

At this time it is expected that well over 5000 spectators will be in attendance.  Guest rooms have been blocked out at the Ramada Hotel (HVR headquarters) as well as at the Holiday Inn and the Holiday Inn Express.
